The Greek word Isos means equal. Which is the whole point behind ISO, the English acronym for the Switzerland-based International Organization of Standardization. ISO creates worldwide standards covering “almost all aspects of technology and business,” according to the Organization. The group, founded by 25 civil engineers in 1946, has blossomed to include mutually agreed-upon standards that “ensure…products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality. For business, they are strategic tools that reduce costs by minimizing waste and errors and increasing productivity. They help companies to access new markets, level the playing field for developing countries and facilitate free and fair global trade.”

Select 1 Group subscribes to the most recent set of ISO standards, ISO 9001,  covering management, quality assurance, people involvement and customer satisfaction, among other areas. This set of standards also covers training and many other aspects of a major industry service provider such as S1G. The ISO 9001 standards are being implemented and expanded across the company now.
