November 14, 2014

More than 60 global and North American vehicle premiers are set to hit the spotlights at the Los Angeles Auto Show November 21-30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The show will again feature new models and concept vehicles from manufacturers world wide as well as the Connected Car Expo, highlighting important technical improvements in 2015 models.

Founded in 1907, the L.A. show is the first major show of “auto show season” to be held each year.

Select 1 Group (S1G) is again the specialized vehicle transport team of choice for several automakers. S1G is one of the world’s most experienced transporters of high-end and concept vehicles to many of North America’s foremost auto shows.

One manufacturer, Audi, has jumped the gun with a tease of its new design approach. Audi said it is preparing to enter a new era of design as the automaker presents its first show car to bear the signature of its new head of design, Marc Lichte. Trade press reports suggest the show car could be Audi’s A9 concept, slotting in above the A8 and A7 sedans. Lichte, appointed in 2014, says vehicle design is “becoming an even stronger expression of progressive technology. The concept car at the Los Angeles auto show marks a new beginning in Audi Design – both for the interior and exterior “.

A key element of the L.A. show will be the Connected Car Expo (CCE), which bills itself as “the industry’s authoritative gathering of automotive and technology leaders”. Planners say CCE’s keynote speaker will be Volvo Car Group President and CEO Hakan Samuelsson. Volvo is one of several manufacturers set to announce major technology news at CCE. Samuelsson will speak on November 18.
